Year 10 pupils Jacob M and Aitor A represented Luckley at the area final of the Rotary Young Chef competition at LVS, Ascot on 20 November. They both qualified after being placed in the top two of our school heat and were competing against six students from local schools (Brackenhale, Ranelagh, Easthampstead Park and LVS). The judges were Chef John Rapello from Bluebells Restaurant, Ascot and Chef Loic Fornier from Ascot Grill, and Rotarian, Jean Goff. Jake and Aitor did extremely well and the standard was extremely high. Jake won the competition and now will go on to represent the school at the district level, which will be held at Newbury College on Saturday 1 February. Both boys were given a chef’s apron and beanie cap, certificate, kitchen equipment and a cook book. Jake came home with the trophy and has also been treated to a meal for four at Bluebells Restaurant, along with an invitation to work alongside John Rapello at Bluebells.
