19 Luckley House School pupils and five members of staff spent Friday night camping out in the woods at the back of the school in aid of the Save the Children project, Den Day.

Save the Children’s Den Day is about children being sponsored to transform their sofa, school desk or even a boring cardboard box into a magical super den. And the money they raise will help to save lives around the world.

The excited Luckley group spent time designing and building their dens before playing ‘man hunt’ and charades.  They enjoyed a delicious BBQ on the lawn and chatted the night away before retiring to their star lit beds. Any sleep that followed was halted at around 3am when it started to get light and the birds began to sing! Most stayed in their beds until 7am, although a few were up and about at the crack of dawn.  Thankfully the rain and the mosquitos stayed away, which made for a very pleasant experience for all involved. The school hopes to exceed their fundraising target for Save the Children of £300. Donations can be made via: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/LuckleyHouse
