John is currently CEO of an educational consultancy. His former appointments include Chair of Governors at Kingham Hill School; Vice Chair of Governors at Elstree School; Director of St Andrew’s School, Turi; Headmaster of Cheltenham College; Headmaster of Culford School; and maths teacher at Eton College and Dean Close School. John’s experience spans governance, educational leadership, strategic planning, and executive development.
John is married with three adult children.

Jenny initially worked in marketing and PR. After studying interior design and decoration she has taken an active interest in the visual arts. She is involved in several Christian charities, and has been active in Christian educational fields for over two decades. Jenny is married with three adult children.
Rev George Curry BA, DipTh, MA
Governor since 2003
George has been involved in the provision of both primary and secondary education for more than 30 years. He is Vicar of Elswick, a member of the Diocesan Board of Education and a governor of St Paul’s Primary School, Newcastle upon Tyne. George is also a trustee of Centre West, the Christian Institute, and Newcastle City Mission.
George is married to Kathryn, and they have four daughters and sixteen grandchildren.
Mr Bruce Gardiner MA, Barrister
Governor since 2008
Bruce is a salaried Employment Judge, based at the London East Employment Tribunal. Until 2019, he was a Barrister in Chambers in the Temple, specialising in employment and personal injury.
Bruce and his wife Catherine have three teenage children. They are members of Grace Church Dulwich, where Bruce leads services and teaches in Sunday Club. He is a regular ParkRunner and has a season ticket at Selhurst Park.
Dr Lisa Horrocks BA PhD

Chair of Governance Committee
Lisa is a climate resilience consultant at design and engineering firm Arup. She has skills in management, team leadership, strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.
A former hockey player, Lisa now enjoys playing and coaching cricket. She is a member of St James’ Church Barkham, where her husband David is Associate Minister. They have one daughter, who attends Luckley House School.
Mr Andrew Imlay BA
Governor since 2011
Chair of Business Committee
Andrew retired from banking in 2019. He was a Managing Director at EFG Private Bank where he worked for the last 22 years of his career in the banking sector. He sat on the Bank’s Credit Committee and has extensive experience of real estate banking. Andrew and his wife Mandy have three adult children.
Mr David Kratt BA
Governor since 2016
David is a marketing and communication consultant. He has owned and run his own consultancy business for more than 30 years, delivering projects for renowned retail, services and manufacturing organisations as well as charities and not for profits.
David is a member of St Saviour’s Church Guildford. He enjoys running, cycling occasionally and fly fishing especially. David and his wife Tamsin have two grown up children.
Dr John Ledger BSc, MSE, PhD
Governor since 1990
John has 30 years of experience in higher and further education, including in the role of college deputy principal prior to his retirement. His particular skills lie in strategic planning, staff management, leadership and risk management.
John is a lay minister at Greyfriars Church, Reading. He is a trustee of Reading Christian Network (Transform Reading) and the Berkshire representative of Mission Aviation Fellowship. John and his wife have two daughters and five grandchildren.
Mrs Claire Tao BSc, MSc, Grad.IPD, PGCE

Claire is Headmistress at Merchant Taylors’ Girls’ School, Liverpool and was previously a Deputy Head at the City of London School for Girls. Claire started her career in investment banking including as an Assistant Director of HR. She retrained as a biology teacher and has held a range of positions within independent schools.
Mrs Emma Taylor MA, PGCE
Governor since 2018
Emma is Warden (Chief Executive) of Dean Close, a Christian schools and nurseries group headquartered in Cheltenham. She has extensive experience in senior leadership in independent schools.
Emma is a member of the preaching team at Holy Apostles’ Church in Cheltenham. She and her husband Simon have two daughters.
