On Thursday 5 November, two Luckley pupils visited the graveyard at All Saint’s Church to place flowers on the grave of Miss Bertha Drake, who founded the School in 1918. This tradition involving the Head Girl and the youngest pupil on roll is part of our birthday celebrations, which also included cakes and candles with a whole-school rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ in the morning assembly.

Sue Hawkins, Alumni Co-ordinator said: “It was particularly fitting this year that our youngest pupil is a boy, given our recent move to coeducation. I am sure that Miss Drake would have approved of such changes to Luckley, as she was a pioneer in education herself.”
