Luckley team wins ‘Best Use of Technology’ award
A fabulous day was had by the ten year 9 girls who visited Surrey Sports park for the 2015 Teen Tech Day.
With 35 schools taking part, winning the award was a superb achievement and undoubtedly the highlight of the girls’ day – they were really very surprised and proud. Their ambassador for the day was full of praise for their enthusiasm, teamwork and creativity.
Comments from the girls include:
“ I learnt that technology isn’t just about computers, it includes Science, Design and engineering, the visit changed my perception and I really enjoyed the computer generated imagery.” Sacha
“The best bit about today was visiting the stations and learning new things, doing the competitions and getting gifts. I loved making the toothpaste!” Georgie
“I thought the most inspirational bit of the day was when Maggie Philbin gave her goodbye speech. She reminded us to always keep thinking, never forget our ideas and to never give up. I used to think that one person designed a product but now I realise it is all about team work and working with others” Megan V
“I found it amazing that the winners of the Teen Tech awards 2015 are now developing ways for clean water in Gambia, that is a team of 14 year olds, like us making a huge difference” Baaba
