This week we say goodbye to our Year 13s as they go off on study leave to complete their final preparations for their A Levels.
On Tuesday evening, the girls celebrated in style with a sumptious hot Italian style buffet, followed by the delights of a chocolate fountain, chocolate brownies, Rocky Road and ice cream. The girls enjoyed reminiscing with their friends and the staff about their time at Luckley and there were a few tears shed as they watched a moving video presentation full of photos taken over the years. Miss Edgerley, Head of Sixth Form, toasted the girls with a humorous piece of prose, complete with a ‘special memory’ or comment about each one. The girls also each received a unique award from Miss Edgerley, in the form of a certificate which they can display in their new uni digs, or at home. Awards included; ‘most likely to rule the world’ and ‘most likely to become a spy’!
The students have a special day planned for Friday, including the privilege of joining staff in the staff room at break time, the traditional rounders match against staff and a Leavers’ Assembly.
The girls have all grown into confident, strong women, of which we are all very proud, and we wish them the very best for their A Level exams and their future destinations beyond Luckley.
