Pimm’s on the lawn. Chopin’s nocturnes played expertly. Soft, acapella singing. Gentle woodland strolls. Delicious canapés. What is more lovely than a summer’s evening at Luckley House?
The Summer Open Evening at Luckley House allowed prospective families to see the school in an informal environment. They chatted with teachers and students…..whilst the prospective pupils took full advantage of the woodland adventure assault course! Parents were able to mingle with staff socially and were exposed to the hot Luckley gossip of the week: the success of the bluebells and the best ‘den-building strategies’ for our involvement in Save the Children’s Den Day campaign!
The Head’s talk and the guided tours addressed the more formal elements of the evening, with many key points being discussed. These ranged from the plans in place for the smooth transition to coeducation, to how Luckley will be ensuring exam success in the new courses starting in September. The school highlighted its new programme to further extend and challenge the higher ability students, as well as outlining its existing learning support strategies.
It was a lovely evening. Thank you for coming to visit us!
