Physical Education Aim
Our aim in the Physical Education department at Luckley is to develop the best leaning opportunities for all our students. Whether that is ensuring pupils have access to a wide variety of activities which encourages and motivates them in maintaining a healthy active lifestyle, or whether it is supporting and developing high achieving students who have the ability to really excel within their chosen sport. Either way we want to offer the best possible learning opportunities for all our pupils.

If you enjoy Physical Education and want to take it to the next level,  these suggestions are designed to extend your knowledge and increase your ability further.

To do:

  • Complete an umpiring/referee course
  • Play sport at a club level, download the list of sports clubs in this area below.
  • Design your own personalised 6 week training programme to help ensure you stay at the top of your game
  • Attend school sports clubs on a regular basis
  • KS4/5- assist in the running of sports clubs for the lower school

Inspirational and aspirational targets:

• Participate in a 5k or 10k fund raising event- have fun, challenge yourself and do something for charity all at the same time.
• Try a new sport that you have never done before. For example Ultimate Frisbee, Handball or Ice Hockey
• Be best in school at Multi-stage Fitness test and Plank challenge (to take place in lesson).-why not complete the 30 day training plank challenge training programme in preparation, or attend ‘Funning’ ready for the Multi-stage fitness test?

Physical Education Awards :

  • Certificate of Sporting achievement awarded for commitment and contribution to school sport.
  • Sports Star of the term awarded to one individual for outstanding commitment and contribution to school sport.
  • Junior colours- awarded at the end of Year 9 for outstanding commitment, contribution and performance.
  • Senior Half Colours- awarded at the end of Year 11 for outstanding commitment, contribution and performance.
  • Senior Full Colours- awarded at the end of Year 13 for outstanding commitment, contribution and performance.
  • All colours may be awarded earlier than indicted above in recognition of exceptionally performers.
