Ten Wokingham Borough Primary Schools enjoyed an afternoon of sports at Luckley House School on Wednesday 10 June.  Our “Sports for All” festival gave local primary schools the opportunity to take part in competitive sport, as well as giving our GCSE sports pupils, who helped to run the event, valuable experience in mentoring and coaching younger children.

The schools entered teams of eight children, four boys and four girls, who took part in a variety of activities including long jump, ball throwing, triple jump, skipping and hoops and balls. The sun continued to shine as the teams took part in a series of athletics track events, including 4×100 relays. Medals were awarded for individual winners and all children received a certificate at the end of the afternoon. The children and their parents finished the day with delicious refreshments, with cakes and biscuits baked by the school’s catering team.

Miss Dobney, Head of PE said: The atmosphere was fantastic and the children really got into the spirit of the competition, enthusiastically cheering on their team mates. I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event and we hope that they will join us again next year.”
