Sixth Form

Luckley Sixth Form aims to create a culture that inspires our students to reach their very best, both academically and within their own personal and social development.

Admissions Process

The first step is to visit us. We hold a Sixth Form Open Evening in the autumn term when you can meet all of the Subject Heads and explore your A Level options. You will have the opportunity to speak to some of our Sixth Form students about their own experience and views of life at Luckley Sixth Form. You will also be invited to attend a Taster Day.

To apply for a place, please complete the online registration form and pay the £150 registration fee. You will also be asked to complete a Sixth Form Planning Sheet, with details of your subject choices.

Academic

With a modern, purpose built Sixth Form study area, a dedicated and highly qualified team of teachers and an impressive record of securing first choice university places it is hardly surprising that the Sixth Form at Luckley is attracting more and more students from other schools.

We pride ourselves on specialist, small-group teaching, with one-to-one support from tutors. You will be given the freedom to stretch yourself academically while learning to use time responsibly, just as you will need to do at university or in the workplace.

We offer over 20 subject choices at A Level and details can be found on the Subjects section of the website. You can choose from a variety of options, following a detailed discussion with the Head of Sixth Form to assist in your decision. Most students will follow a 3 A Level programme plus an EPQ.

After Luckley

We are proud of the achievements of all our pupils. Over the past five years, 90% of our pupils have left us to study at their first choice university, with others choosing further education courses, gap years, or employment.

Beyond the Curriculum

The need to balance academic studies with rich and varied experiences outside the classroom is always at the forefront of our minds. Many departments arrange trips to academic lectures, conferences and theatres to complement classroom studies. Residential trips in Biology and Geography have proved very successful, as have our cultural trips to South Africa, Paris, Venice and America, to name a few.

There is a wide range of clubs and activities on offer to enable you to explore and develop your talents and passions. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and Combined Cadet Forces give you the opportunity to experience outdoor adventures whilst learning some valuable life skills such as basic first aid, navigation and outdoor cooking.

Sixth Form students also have access to the excellent facilities at Luckley House School, including state-of-the-art science laboratories, an outstanding music centre, stunning performing arts theatre, dedicated Sixth Form art studio and a well-equipped sports centre, with an All-Weather Pitch, fitness suite and climbing wall.
