Luckley’s Life Skills is a brand new programme catering to the personal, social, health and economic education of our pupils from Year 7 through to Sixth Form. This replaces the former “4U” programme. As well as timetabling the lessons to occur every fortnight and to be taught by the pupils’ personal Form Tutors, we have introduced a range of new topics this year including, at the pupils’ request, modules on everyday life that stretch from independent living and personal safety to workplace skills, student loans, payslips and taxes.
Naturally, sex education, mental health, healthy friendships, personal safety, drugs, alcohol and smoking all remain at the forefront of our programme.
In the first half term, pupils have already been eagerly participating in Life Skills sessions with their Form Tutors and as a reward, the top three students in each session will be entered into a raffle for Nando’s or Vue vouchers at the end of each full term.
