It provides the basis of all scientific study and becomes increasingly important as we delve deeper into any scientific discipline. Physics is the study of matter, energy, space and time and so deals with the behaviour of the smallest particles to the whole universe. Throughout the course students will carry out practical work. In so doing, a range of practical skills will be developed and this will enable achievement of an additional qualification in practical competency entitled “Science Practical Endorsement”.

Assessment
Three written exams
Paper 1 – 1 hour 45 minutes (30% of A level)
Paper 2 – 1 hour 45 minutes (30% of A level)
Paper 3 – 2 hours 45 minutes (40% of A level)
