We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, innovative and enthusiastic full-time Teacher of Textiles.

Textiles is taught to both GCSE and A Level so experience of teaching both is essential. The ability to teach Art Textiles and Design Technology Textiles would be an advantage.

There will be some crossover with the Design Technology teaching so the ability to teach Design Technology to KS3 would also be an advantage.

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND OPERATIONS

Located in Wokingham, Berkshire, Luckley House is a thriving co-educational, independent day and boarding school for 375 pupils aged 11 to 18 years. The Headmistress and Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and commercially minded Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) with the skill set to shape strategy and deliver operational functions effectively. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continued success and development of a school that has seen a significant growth in pupil numbers in recent years and is looking forward to launching a new ten year development plan that will allow for expansion of both its sports facilities and the wider site.

Reporting to the Headmistress on day-to-day operations, the DFO is a critical member of the Leadership Team and will work with the Headmistress and Governors to shape and implement the School’s strategic development. The DFO will lead a diverse team of support staff, ensuring effective and efficient functional delivery whilst driving continuous improvement in financial, estate and operational performance.  Areas of responsibility will include finance, buildings and facilities, health and safety, risk management, catering, transport, legal and commercial activities. The DFO is also Clerk to the Governors.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful business leadership and will be a strategic thinker with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.  Exceptional financial acumen and robust commercial judgement will be essential, as will an ability to establish highly effective, collaborative working relationships with the Headmistress, Governors and colleagues at all levels. Prior experience in the education sector is not essential and applications are welcomed from candidates with commercial, charitable and private-sector backgrounds.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Director of Sport who can provide strategic leadership and development for all areas of sport and PE at Luckley and can communicate a clear vision for the Faculty.

The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher and leader of sport who is committed to developing an exciting fixtures programme and who is dedicated to innovative teaching and learning that encourages all pupils to reach their full potential and be the best they can be.

Luckley Sport is a vibrant, forward-thinking department, that has seen excellent growth over the past couple of years, including the construction of our new Astro. We have a traditional afternoon games programme, alongside a varied PE curriculum including GCSE and A Level.

Job profile – Director of Sport


Learning Skills Specialist (Maternity Cover)

Part-time, 3 days a week, to cover maternity leave

Salary: £42.82 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Start date: September 2024

We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, innovative, and enthusiastic Learning Skills Specialist to join our Learning Support Department and cover a period of maternity leave.

There are currently four specialist teachers within the Learning Support Department, including the SENDCo, and two Learning Support Assistants who cater for the needs of those pupils with EHC Plans.

Together with specialist tuition, our team of experienced teachers deliver Study Support either to individuals or small groups, where we cover areas such as active learning, the use of assistive software, strategies and examination techniques. The use of Onenote, Teams, MS Surface devices and interactive whiteboards in classrooms are central to teaching at Luckley House.

We aim to ensure that students with learning differences are identified as early as possible in their Luckley House career to ensure that the most appropriate support is put in place as quickly as possible. This allows our students to develop appropriate learning and revision strategies that will allow them to achieve in line with their potential.

Job profile – Learning Skills Specialist


GRADUATE BOARDING & TEACHING ASSISTANT (Resident)

Fixed term contract until July 2025

Salary: Competitive, in the region of £18,000 to £20,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

Start date:  September 2024

This is an exciting opportunity for a Graduate student who is considering a career in teaching to gain experience of working in a thriving school. The position involves working as a member of the boarding team and during school time gaining experience in the classroom with qualified teachers.  The successful candidates will have a good Honours degree, good communication and organisational skills and a concern for the welfare and development of pupils.

Hours:  Term time, plus some additional days at the start and end of the holidays.

Accommodation and meals: Comfortable accommodation is provided.  Meals may be taken in school free of charge during term time.  Boarding and Teaching Assistants can stay in school during holiday periods, but meals are not provided.
