TEACHER OF ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY

Permanent, full or part time (approx. 80 %)   Start date: September 2024

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated full-time or part-time (approx. 80%) Teacher of Art & Photography with a passion for teaching creative and exciting lessons.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity and ability to teach mostly Art with some Photography (timetable permitting) together with the desire to develop their own skill set in order to contribute to the continued development of the Luckley Art and Photography Department.  We teach Art and Photography as separate endorsed subjects at Key Stage 3 and 4 and at Key Stage 5 we also offer Art, Graphics and Photography.

The Art and Photography Department is devoted to developing and nurturing creative students with independent working and critical thinking skills.  We employ a holistic approach to the development of our students with excellent teaching and learning and an emphasis on positive working relationships at the heart of everything that we do.

The Department benefits from two large art classrooms and a dedicated Sixth Form classroom. We have a kiln and pottery area, a large flatbed printing press and alongside digital photography, we have a fully functioning dark room that accommodates manual and film photography processing and development. The School runs an extensive enrichment programme which includes Art and Photography clubs which are well attended.

This role could be suitable for an ECT.

Learning Skills Specialist (Maternity Cover)

Part-time, 3 days a week, to cover maternity leave

Salary: £42.82 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Start date: September 2024

We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, innovative, and enthusiastic Learning Skills Specialist to join our Learning Support Department and cover a period of maternity leave.

There are currently four specialist teachers within the Learning Support Department, including the SENDCo, and two Learning Support Assistants who cater for the needs of those pupils with EHC Plans.

Together with specialist tuition, our team of experienced teachers deliver Study Support either to individuals or small groups, where we cover areas such as active learning, the use of assistive software, strategies and examination techniques. The use of Onenote, Teams, MS Surface devices and interactive whiteboards in classrooms are central to teaching at Luckley House.

We aim to ensure that students with learning differences are identified as early as possible in their Luckley House career to ensure that the most appropriate support is put in place as quickly as possible. This allows our students to develop appropriate learning and revision strategies that will allow them to achieve in line with their potential.
