At Luckley House School, we understand that education extends far beyond the classroom. While academic achievement lays the foundation for success, the importance of extra-curricular activities cannot be overstated. Our comprehensive enrichment programme is designed to prepare pupils for life beyond Luckley, fostering a well-rounded education that equips them with essential skills, broad interests, and lifelong memories.

Our extra-curricular activities are as diverse as they are enriching. Departments frequently organise trips to academic lectures, conferences, and theatres, offering pupils the chance to deepen their understanding of classroom topics in real-world settings. Residential trips in Biology and Geography, as well as cultural experiences in destinations such as South Africa, Paris, Venice, and America, allow students to explore new perspectives and cultures.
Closer to home, the wide array of clubs and activities ensures every pupil can discover and nurture their passions. Programmes like the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and Combined Cadet Forces (CCF) teach valuable life skills, including first aid, navigation, and teamwork, while also providing unforgettable outdoor adventures.
Preparation for Life Beyond Luckley
In the Upper Sixth, students participate in a variety of activities designed to prepare them for life beyond Luckley. These include cooking demonstrations, car maintenance workshops, managing finances, CV writing, and work experience. Students also take part in a thought-provoking driver awareness session, providing valuable insights into the risks of driving and practical guidance on how to ensure their own safety and the safety of others on the road.
These experiences are designed to give students confidence in navigating adult life while fostering independence and resilience.
Staying Active and Healthy
Physical activity plays a crucial role in maintaining mental and physical well-being. At Luckley, our aim is to develop the athletic potential of every young person, empowering them to achieve elite performances while also fostering success, confidence, and a sense of well-being for all. We recognise that each pupil’s journey in PE and Games is unique, and we use sport as a vehicle to promote personal growth, resilience, and other essential life skills. This is all achieved within a safe and secure environment where pupils can build the confidence to express themselves fully.
We offer a diverse range of activities, both recreational and competitive, ensuring all pupils can find their passion and thrive.
Pupils compete in a weekly games fixtures programme against other local independent schools, as well as in regional and national ISA competitions. We also host termly House competitions, where pupils go all out in pursuit of the coveted House Cup! Additionally, we offer a 5-year tour programme, alongside our bi-annual ski trip.
Through all of these opportunities, our goal is to help your child develop a lasting commitment to a balanced, healthy, and active lifestyle that will serve them well beyond Luckley as they move on to the next stage of their life.
